Production & Mixing

Mixing

I am a lover of analog technologies and although mixing has largely become an ‘in-the-box’ proposition, I always maintain the connection with analog through workflow and the tape feel and processing. I have been fortunate to work as a mixer on a large variety of music made by inspiring musicians. Check out the link to my credits and to the listen-to section of the website. I also have a long passion for working with ‘spatial sound’ whether it is a quad mix, ambisonic or object-based approaches - if the music calls for a spatial rendering I love to translate such productions into such extended domains. I am currently completing a book on mixing signed to publisher Routledge/Taylor Francis that is slated for release end of 2024.

Production

I work out of my studio in the Flughafen (Airport) building in Tempelhof, which has been turned into a cultural hub housing many musicians and other artistic projects. I have an ever-growing array of gear including synths, modular, analog tapes, acoustic and electric instruments, microphones and such, where I do sessions for songwriting and production development.

I am a specialist vocal producer, often called upon to develop and re-record vocals as well as finalise the vocal post-production and mixing.

For more information on specific projects please visit the credits page (above) and listen page (below) to get a taste for my sonic aesthetic and the range of styles and artists that I have worked with.
